Preview: Pocket PC 2003 Phone Edition

At first glance the new Pocket PC phone software looks the same as old one:

... but in reality it is powered by Windows CE 4.2:

... instead of Windows CE 3.0 as in the case of Pocket PC 2002 Phone Edition software!

After you will switch the phone on, right after powering it (or after hard reset) you see this screen:

Nice feature is "Windows" button, that similarly like in Windows XP and regular PC keyboard brings the main Windows menu:

The "phone" application is skinnable and in the default form looks like this:

And counter of characters is not missing while writing SMS messages:

Pocket PC 2003 phone is cool because not only you can use built-in cell phone features (GPRS) to connect to the Internet, but you can also use regular cell phone with Bluetooth to browse Internet without the use of the built-in cell phone:

Personalized ring tones? No problem:

And since some of new Pocket PC phones will be equipped also with built-in camera, the new "Pictures" application is available:

Pocket PC 2003 is equipped with Windows Mediat Player of version 9:

And as far as games are concerned, now 2 are pre-installed - Solitair as previously and new one - Jawbreaker:

Generally the new Pocket PC 2003 Phone Edition software gives good overall impression - impression of maturity and stability:
