Review: SMS Cool! for Microsoft smartphone
Send and receive SMS messages from your PC.

Sometimes ability to receive and send SMS messages directly at your PC computer is very useful: you can then comfortably - with full QWERTY keyboard - write SMS messages, reply to incoming SMS messages, and you can also copy and paste the text of SMS messages to other applications running inside of the PC.

Sometimes when you listen to the music with stereo headphones you may miss some incoming SMS messages. But with use of such programs as SMS Cool! you won´t miss any SMS messages any more and you can even reply to them very quickly with your PC!

The program "SMS Cool!" consists of 2 parts: an application for Windows XP (the main part) and tiny part for Microsoft smartphone (for info about it see below at the end of this article).

After installation in the menu appears new group "SMS Cool" :

After launching the SMS Cool application you can see the main window of it, that looks a bit similar to Microsoft Outlook:

When the application is running (it can be in the background but it cannot be closed) then when your MS Smarpthone receives SMS message, you get double notification of the incoming SMS message, one is visual in form of a pop-up dialog:

... and another is a female voice that says "There´s message for you!".

Interestingly after arrival of an SMS message you can reply to it simply by clicking the "Reply SMS" button in the toolbar! Then this dialog appears where you can comfortably reply to the SMS message (it´s the same dialog as writing the totally new SMS message):

For writing messages you can import contacts from your Smartphone locally to the SMS cool program:

It is interesting to say, that for sending an SMS one needs a priviliged signing (of the smartphone part of the application), so "SMS Cool!" is Orange priviliged signed, as can be observed at this picture:

... so it will certainly work in all Microsoft smartphone sold by Orange. It will also work in Motorola MPx200 as sold by AT&T Wireless - because this phone is fully unlocked. However "SMS Cool!" will not work with Samsung i600 and it may have problems with some other smartphone! So we advise you to download trial version and check for yourself if you have doubts!.

The smartphone part consists of "smsdevice.exe" file that is located in the smartphone in the directory "/temp/smscool" and that is copied on runtime to the device each time the PC client part of "SMS Cool!" connects.
